Jonca Camille Bull, M.D.

Jonca Camille Bull, M.D. joined the GHMSI Board in October 2017.  In January 2021, she was also elected to the CFI Board and elected as Chair of the GHMSI Board.

She serves as a consultant on clinical trials advancing new therapies addressing unmet medical need. She advises clients on study design, protocol development and regulatory strategy to advance effective and efficient clinical programs.  She brings extensive experience in pre and post market medical product development in both regulatory and industry settings for clinical research. Dr. Bull served in the US Food and Drug Administration in a variety of clinical leadership positions in both the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the Office of the Commissioner as Assistant Commissioner for Minority Health. Her industry experience includes serving as a Vice President at PPD, Vice President for US Regulatory Policy at Novartis and as Director of Clinical Regulatory Policy at Genentech.
 
Dr. Bull is acknowledged as a leader in advancing innovative approaches in expanding clinical trial participation and served as a co-lead of the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative Recruitment Project.
 
She is a graduate of Princeton University received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, and did Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology postgraduate training at George Washington University. She is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has served as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She holds an appointment as an assistant clinical professor in Ophthalmology at George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Bull and her husband Derrick Humphries are residents of Washington, DC and have four adult children.
